President Cyril Ramaphosa of the Republic of South Africa has just announced that there are new changes in all provinces of South Africa due to the fact that some provinces have high numbers of infections than others. The new changes will take effect from the 1st June 2020.
Western Cape is still having a high number of new cases in South Africa so the province will not have any changes on the 1st of June as the restrictions of economic conditions will remain the same. The president further said that Western Cape will have to improve when it comes to measures in place to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The above means that Western Cape will not have new companies reopening soon as that will increase the rate of positive cases. There are few businesses which are operating in Western Cape but due to restrictions they are struggling and a lot of jobs have already been lost and thousands more are still going to be lost before the province could move to the next level of lockdown where most businesses will be opening.
KwaZulu Natal, Gauteng and Eastern Cape Province are also some few provinces with high rate but they are managing to control measures put in place to reduce the rate of new infections. These provinces will move to the new level where the economic activities will increase but with more strict measures to help combat the spread of the coronavirus.
Other provinces like Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga and Northern Cape are all clear to move to the next level without any doubt as these provinces have the lowest number of infected people and their health MECs are doing their best to trace all the relatives of infected people to test them to make sure they are clear of the virus before becoming sick if they are infected.
Essential services production and goods are affected by the new changes announce by the president. This means that there will be more activity in the South African economy and all people are now supposed to wear a mask to be able to enter shopping malls and other places they visit during lockdown.
