South Africa is now in level three of their lockdown where all sectors of the economy are open and now the government want all companies to report to them what the first day’s challenges are when dealing with staff members, clients and all people in general due to the fact that the government is trying by all means to fight the spread of the coronavirus which is very worse in Cape Town.
Cape Town has recorded a lot of people who are positive for the virus and the province is one of the best contributors of GDP in South Africa which means the government was forced to reopen businesses and companies in the province as they cannot afford to loose more opportunities after the past two months where everything was on hold and a lot of revenue was lost.
Other provinces have reported a low number of positive cases meaning that they are functioning as usual in terms of the economy but they are all advised not to take things for granted and ignore the measures in place to fight the spread of the virus which is becoming more of a problem in the country daily and has already killed a lot of people world wide.
While people are allowed to return to their places of employment, schools remained closed in the country even though it was announced that they would also be opening on the first of June. There a re a lot of problems when it comes to the standard of schools in the country, especially those in rural areas where the facilities are of low value and returning children to school to those schools could be fatal.
So far a lot of people were very happy to return to work but a lot of people are still encouraged to work from home if they are able to do so to avoid packing places of work as a lot of people in one area is very risky because the coronavirus spreads so quickly. Companies are said to be happy with the fact that some of their employees will remain at home until further notice as the virus is still out there and still very harmful.
By Tuesday morning the Department of Trade and Industry will be flooded with a lot of reports from all companies in South Africa where they are supposed to report about any challenges they encountered in the first day of the level three lockdown so that the government could help where they can. It is a compulsory for all companies to report to the government.
