About the Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven National Demand Planning Manager to join our strategic supply chain team, based in the Vhembe District. This leadership role is critical in driving forecast accuracy, aligning supply and demand, and ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet national sales and operational goals in 2025 and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage national demand planning strategies and systems
Lead monthly demand review meetings across business units and regions
Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, production, and logistics teams to gather forecast inputs and align operational plans
Analyse historical data, market trends, and promotional activity to refine demand forecasts
Oversee statistical forecasting models and implement improvements as needed
Report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory health
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning tools and S&OP processes
Manage and mentor a team of regional planners or analysts
Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 8 years of experience in demand planning or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle, Kinaxis, or similar)
Advanced Excel and data visualization skills; familiarity with Power BI or Tableau is a plus
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience working in the FMCG, retail, or manufacturing sector is highly desirable
Preferred Attributes:
Familiarity with the South African retail and consumer markets
Ability to lead under pressure and manage national-scale planning operations
Residing in or willing to relocate to the Vhembe District
