Part-Time Primary Healthcare (PHC) Site Facilitator

Duties: Clinical training of undergraduate MBChB students
· Employed on a sessional basis over a period of one year. Renewable annually.
· Training of first-year medical (MBChB) students from February 2022 at training sites;
· Employed for four hours/day (from 08H00 – 12H00), i.e. 20 hours per week;
· Five days per week (Mondays to Fridays). On Friday afternoon’s students have training in the Skills Lab at the University;
· Responsible for five to six students daily from Monday to Friday. A different group of students visits the CDC/CHC on each particular day;
· Overseeing and managing the practical experience and learning of students at CHC/CDC;
· Overseeing and managing the community experience of students;
· Keeping record of attendance, arrivals, departures, etc. of students;
· Liaising / interacting with the training site facility manager daily;
· Providing feedback to students on their learning;
· Involved in assessments of students at the end of each of the six-month rotations;
· Reporting to Site Facilitator Coordinator;
· Training on the specific expected outcomes will be provided prior to commencement of duty.
Required Skills
- Experienced Clinical Nurse Practitioners (CNPs), who may or may not be retired
- Experienced nurses
- Experience in PHC context for a minimum of three years : 3 to 4 years
Candidate Requirements
Job Requirements:
· Experienced Clinical Nurse Practitioners (CNPs), who may or may not be retired;
· Experienced nurses;
· Must be registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC);
· Experience in PHC context for a minimum of three years;
· Teaching experience in Primary Health Care or teaching experience at any college, Technikon or, ideally, a university;
· Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Afrikaans, English and / or isiXhosa.
