Eskom providing the best electricity supply throughout the lockdown period in South Africa

Eskom which the supplier of electricity in the county is providing the supply of electricity without any delays or cut-offs during lockdown in South Africa. The electricity supply company is fully controlled by the South African government under the leadership of Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa. All people are supposed to get full supply of electricity in the country without any complains during these difficult times of the outbreak of coronavirus.

Even though Eskom has had a number of problems before lockdown where South Africa was experiencing loadshedding where electricity was not supplied fully to the people as there times and places where the cut-offs were happening on a daily basis, they are now operating in full force and we are yet to hear anything about loadshedding in the near future and experts are saying that loadshedding might be the thing of the past as government is now fully funding all sectors of the economy that are fundamental in the buildup to the new economy in the country.

In rural areas, the government has announced that people should receive free electricity for 6 months but with limited use as not everyone qualifies for it. All unemployed people where only people who depend on government grant will fully receive free electricity from the government. Every family where they don’t receive more than R5 000 combined monthly income, they will be given free electricity and free food and also receive monthly grant to supplement them during these difficult times.

Furthermore, the companies that are supplying Eskom with coal are fully operating and doing their duties normally and should make sure that all power stations have enough coal for the production of electricity. Employees working for Eskom are fully at work and no one is allowed to go on leave now during lockdown as they are required to be working in all angles to provide South Africans with electricity on a daily basis.

The outbreak of the coronavirus could be the relief for Eskom as the power supply company has been asking for government funding for too long and not getting what they were looking for. Now that the government must make sure that they have everything in place to rebuild the economy after lockdown, they will definitely fund Eskom and maybe change things here and there to avoid all the problems that has been happening at the utility facility.
