Plans to create new jobs in South Africa as the lockdown is now on level 2 – Government in the forefront

As the South African government eased the lockdown to level 2, more focus has now been shifted to the creation of new jobs as a lot of people have lost their jobs during lockdown which started on the 26th March 2020. A lot of economical activities are now allowed with only international travelling still not allowed.

South Africans can now more from provinces within the country for leisure or business activities. This was not allowed in previous levels as the government’s mission was to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Now people are allowed to do business and companies are now open for trading as usual.

The shift now is to create new jobs where the unemployment rate has increased due to the outbreak of the virus. A lot of projects are now in place where people are encouraged to open new businesses and also apply for new jobs that are available in the country. Government has created 100 000 new jobs in the first week of level 2.

Those who lost their jobs are still being compensated by government to carry them through to the next level where they will get new jobs. Small businesses are also welcome to apply for new funding established in level 2 as most of them have no funds to continue with business as they lost revenue during hard lockdown in the previous levels.
