DAYBREAK FARMS requires the services of a suitably qualified, well-motivated and results driven candidate to be appointed in the above mentioned vacant position.
Duties Include But Not Limited To The Following
• Set Daybreak’s financial management frameworks – policies, operating procedures and controls;
• Monitor adherence by all stakeholders to policies;
• Strategic and annual budgeting as well as financial scenario planning
• Assessing of financial risks and provision of mitigating interventions ;
• Treasury function to ensure sustainable financial adequacy
• Finance and administration systems that are aligned to Daybreak’s strategic goals.
• Continuous improvement on the company’s internal control environment
• Ensure Daybreak has accurate financial matrixes including revenue and expense management, cash flow and capital management competencies;
• Model and monitor Daybreak’s business units financial planning and performances ;
• Build detailed models for CAPEX projects financing, to be used to assess project feasibility ;
• Prepare financial reports for Management, the Board of Directors as well as the Shareholder
• Lead internal stakeholders on company’s financial planning processes and budgeting;
• Ensure company’s compliance with requirements of funders, regulatory and statutory authorities such SARS, etc.;
• Working closely with the CEO raise capital needed to fund the company’s short- and long-term funding requirements for sustainable growth and strategic ambitions;
• Optimise the mix of capital between equity, retained earnings, debt, and grant funding;
• Establish and maintain functional stakeholder relations with particularly Executive Management, the Board of Directors as well as the Shareholder;
• Liaise with and ensure compliance with the requirements of external stakeholders including the company’s funders and all relevant regulatory/statutory authorities
• Ensure accurate and systematic collation of all financial information across the Daybreak business; Ensure accurate and timeous consolidation of financial performance reporting to all internal and external reporting
• Ensure verification processes are in place to adhere to reporting requirements;
• Effective management of the finance team and alignment of all members to organisational goals; Ensure team members are engaged, allocated suitable roles, assigned specific performance goals and afforded personal development opportunities;
• Entrench Daybreak values and culture in all activities of the team
• Requirements*:
• Matriculation or Grade 12
• B Com Honours in Accounting Finance
• Registered CA (SA)/ACMA (CIMA)
• Minimum 10 years Financial Management or Executive Role (post CA qualification) for a medium to large entity in a manufacturing FMCG sector
• Poultry industry experience and previous experience as Chief Financial Officer will be an added advantage
