Supervises all aspects of hygiene & safety within the fruit & veg Department. Ensures the operating standards are maintained.
- Monitors adherence to merchandise/display standards.
- Conducts regular quality checks on merchandise.
- Accurate and methodical stock counting.
- Optimises stock levels.
- Evaluates the performance of subordinates against agreed objectives and standards
- Ensures that all equipment is maintained in effective working order.
- Implements shrinkage control measures.
- Monitors all areas of possible loss due to theft, free bagging, fraud, and/or carelessness.
- Ensures that cash office procedures and security checks are adhered to.
- Ensures that temperature controls in fridges are set and maintained at required levels.
- Ensures that hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Conducts daily quality checks.
- Stores and rotates produce products.
- Ensures that food safety policies are communicated to all staff.
- Work with accuracy and attention to detail
- Take initiative to resolve problems and ensure all tasks are completed properly
- Be able to work under pressure
- Have a sense of urgency and the ability to meet weekly as well as monthly deadlines
- Must be reliable
