These Universities Will Open Late Applications For 2023

Late applications could very much be a lifesaver for many who could not apply for University admission during the initial application period. Here are the universities which are expected to have a late application period.

Eagerly waiting to see if any universities will be having late applications? Universities South Africa (USAf) revealed during a parliamentary meeting the universities we should expecting to have a late application period.

Late applications are usually based on the available space and will often apply for specific programmes only. It’s therefore important to keep an eye on university updates.

These universities will open late applications for 2023:

Cape Peninsula University of Technology
Durban University of Technology
Mangosuthu University of Technology
Rhodes University
University of Fort Hare
Walter Sisulu University
The University of Pretoria has no set closing date for applications for non-selection programmes for 2023 and it’s instead based on available space. However, the university closed all applications for selection programmes on 30 June 2022.

Another University that’s still taking applications for the 2023 academic year is the University of the Free State (UFS) as UFS will be closing their 2023 applications on 15 January. Prospective students are however encouraged to apply as soon as they can to ensure that they secure their space before space runs out int heir desired programme.

The Department of Higher Education predicts that total enrolments within the public university sector will be 1 112 439 for the 2023 academic year. 196 324 of these are expected to be first time entering students.
