Job Description

 

CrossBoundary is recruiting an Information Technology Specialist to join our team full-time. We seek candidates with extensive experience working within information technology and a proven track record of building an IT function from the ground up.

 

As the Information Technology Specialist, you will work closely with the CrossBoundary Group and firm leadership to build the overall IT strategy in order to meet the firm’s growing business needs. The ideal candidate must be able to work across different markets and have a willingness to travel.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support in the development of the firm’s IT strategy that will drive business improvements across the Group

• Support in the development of IT security policies and rolling out relevant system changes

• Develop and manage an IT budget that achieves the firms operational and IT goals

• Oversee IT hardware management

• Serve as the first point of contact for all staff for IT software and hardware issues, including password changes and computer issues

• Manage the firmwide anti-virus, malware, patch management, encryption, IT insurance, etc.

• Drive further development of CossBoundary’s intranet (InBounds)

• Manage and troubleshoot all our IT subscriptions (e.g., Slack, Adobe, Zoom, Dropbox, JazzHR, BambooHR, 10,000ft., Microsoft, Think Cell, Bitdefender, cloze, concur, Evernote, etc.)

• Play a supporting role with the F&O and People teams in the rollout of new systems: Sage, Bill.com, Cognos Dashboards

• Support the development, management, and ongoing implementation process of our new CRM platform – Deal Cloud

• Liaise between external parties and internal teams/offices on multiple DeaCloud related workstreams

• Become DealCloud Certified

• Oversee technical management of our CrossBoundary website along with our Head of Communications on content

• Train new staff members on IT systems across the firm

 

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Demonstrated leadership skills; preferably in a fast-moving, highly dynamic, and complex environments

• Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issues

• Excellent quantitative skills: ability to apply analytical rigor to complex and uncertain tasks

• Knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, etc.

• Exceptional customer service skills

• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues in stressful environments

• Excellent presentation skills: ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences

• Comfort with ambiguity; ability to operate effectively in a changing context

• Willingness to work and live in a sometimes-challenging environment

• 5+ years of experience working in the information technology team of a top-tier investment or consulting firm or similar

• BSc/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field; MSc/MA degree preferred

 

Location

 

Candidates will join our team in either Johannesburg, South Africa, or Nairobi, Kenya.
