Key Responsibilities:
Researching, analyzing, and resolving routine contractual issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Setting departmental targets, monitoring performance against targets, and ensuring adherence to agreed-upon business plans.
Manage business strategy
Effective management of operational processes and contracts/service
Develop and maintain procedures which relate to day to day operational requirements
Ensure effective financial management of strategic operation
Ensure overall effective production and that production targets are achieved
Implement and manage an effective SHEQ system addressing all safety risks identified, limiting all safety risks to a minimum and ensuring zero LTI scores.
Monitor compliance with organisational safety, health, environment and quality standards and procedures
Manage & Coordinates loading and hauling equipment’s and ensure that they are utilised according to the target to ensure the achievement of hauling targets.
Delivering on the weekly and monthly plans to achieve quality requirements, volume requirements, resource utilisation, and equipment utilisation
Undertake effective client relationship management
Identify customer needs, growing the business and providing excellent customer service
Manage and monitor contracts performance and take corrective actions.
Manage the entire spectrum of the depot work including its administration, Industrial Relations and risk management.
Oversee fleet maintenance processes to ensure optimum vehicle and driver utilisation.
Manage a team of staff including, despatchers, gantry loaders, supervisors, clerks and other ancillary staff.
Implementation and seamless transition of new business, be it organic or external growth
Analyse financial statements, sales reports, and performance data to assess productivity and goal achievement.
Identify areas for cost reduction and operational improvement.
Oversee HR processes including recruitment, development, and team performance.
Ensure service delivery meets operational and financial expectations while staying within budget.
Liaise with board members, executives, and staff to drive strategic alignment and execution.
Develop forecasts and financial budgets for strategic business unit
Plan and organize Strategic Business Unit resources optimally in respect of developing plans and strategies, scheduling and forecasting
Develop and manage programs, plans and budgets for specific projects / contracts to be undertaken
Manage the individual Service Level Agreements to ensure compliance to the agreements at all times
Ensure adherence to fleet maintenance and manufacturing standards
Monitor equipment performance trends and apply corrective and preventative strategy actions.
Ensure that all standards are met in respect of the vehicle replacement
Assist with business development programs to achieve market growth and market penetration objectives set in the overall Business Plan and implementation thereof.
Monitor accident levels and implement accident prevention measures

Minimum Requirements

In greater detail:
- A trade certificate/apprenticeship qualification in mechanics is essential, as well as proficiency in vehicle diagnostic computer systems. Accounting and Microsoft computer skills would be an added advantage
Must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in Mining environment, at Management level.
Basic legal knowledge of contracts
Strong experience in managing a diverse team in a unionized work environment
Valid Botswana Blasting Licence is compulsory
Judgment and decision-making skills
Clean criminal record
Valid class B Driver’s license
Excellent management and human resources skills
Good understanding of accounting processes
