Job Summary
•Joburg Market is looking for a Supervisor in Security department
Duties And Responsibilities
•Oversee and supervise security officers which includes work allocation, leave, training, performance and problem resolution,
•Implement and maintain an effective record keeping system, schedule and co-ordinate shifts, prepare and co-ordinate
monthly duty roster for security officers, prepare and co-ordinate monthly duty roster for security officers, oversee service
provider to ensure SLA adherence and thus ensuring the safety and security of the JM and their customers,
•Inform and warn
violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, watch for and report irregularities, such
as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police,
fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required
•Enforce JM by-laws by issuing fines whenever service provider reports by-law transgressions
•Prepare routine, standardised reports, Interact with various government security offices, including the SAPS and the Metro Police Service regarding security issues, may coordinate and schedule the shifts of Security Officers with the relevant outsourced service providers, internal resources and EPWPs, oversee and administer unit facilities and equipment
inventories, as appropriate to the specific position, remain alert for the presence of unauthorised persons and/or security code
violators;
• approach suspicious persons and/or notify police as appropriate;
•may confront and/or detain violators, as required,
until police arive, ensure that assigned parking areas and/or parking garages are patrolled and monitored to provide public
security and assistance, handle conflict situations that may arise from service providers conducting access control and
patrolling of JFPM premises, contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required, provide first line customer service and preserve the image of the company, if and when necessary refer investigations to the
SAPS.
•Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications And Experience
•Grade 12 certificate or equivalent with Psira Grade B
•Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in security supervising environment
•Must be willing to work shifts
